ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT

About Claire

Claire Sandman Malcomb (she/her) is an incoming Assistant Professor of Management in the Bill Munday School of Business at St. Edward’s University. She recently received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the ILR School at Cornell University.

Her research explores how allies—those with privilege who act in solidarity with marginalized groups—can shape group dynamics, power structures, and conflict resolution in the workplace. She aims to design research-based interventions that encourage authentic ally behavior and help build more inclusive, equitable organizational cultures.

In addition to her research, Claire is also passionate about teaching and mentoring. As a Ph.D. student, she developed and taught the first core undergraduate course on diversity, equity, and inclusion for the ILR School. She also established a new undergraduate research program in collaboration with the WIDE Center at the ILR School, creating opportunities for undergraduate students to get involved in diversity research.

Claire earned her bachelor degree with a double major in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences from Rice University. During her time at Rice, she developed a passion for research working as a research assistant and conducting an Honors Thesis in Mikki Hebl’s Lab.
